More Dead Birds Today. - Spy on America.
QUEBEC — Following instances in the southern United States and Sweden, birds are now dropping dead from the sky in Quebec.

A resident in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, west of Quebec City, has found some 80 dead pigeons on his property over the past three weeks. He discovered the first batch of 25 birds on Dec. 18 and other pigeons fell to the ground dead this past week as well.

Quebec wildlife officials have collected several bird specimen and sent them to a pathology laboratory in Quebec City.

A spokesman for the Natural Resources department said the analysis conducted so far have not inconclusive.
"This is something unusual and we take it very seriously, but at the same time we don't think there is any cause for worry," spokesman Nicolas Begin said Friday.

He said there doesn't appear to be any link between this case and the other recent massive birds die-off.
In one small town in Arkansas, more than 4,000 red-winged blackbirds dropped out of the sky on New Year's Eve, while some 100 birds were found lying in a snow-covered street in Sweden this week.

Quebec City police are also investigating to determine if a criminal act could be responsible for the pigeons' sudden deaths.
