It looks like there's a baby boom in Hollywood these days. As the latest celeb to announce a pregnancy, Jewel posted on her blog Tuesday that she is expecting a baby with husband Ty Murray.Currently in her second trimester, the singer and Murray decided finally to make the big announcement.
"We're so excited to be expecting our first baby," Murray told PEOPLE. "We always knew we wanted to have a child, and this time in our lives feels right."
Jewel was on the set of her upcoming Bravo show, 'Going Platinum,' when she found out about her pregnancy.
"I took a pregnancy test, and it was positive!" said the singer. "It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I'd start throwing up on set, and everyone would be like, 'Oh, she's pregnant.'"
The singer, who released a children's album in 2009 and is currently working on a second, will put her vocal talents to good use once the baby arrives. Until then she's taking it day by day, and making room for a nursery in their 2,200-acre Texas ranch.
"I'm trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy," she said. "I feel really lucky."
Jewel's big news is the latest in celebrity baby announcements, joining Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Victoria Beckham, Jane Krakowski and Natalie Portman with upcoming bundles of joy.
