The good news for fans heading to Sunday's AFC Championship between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets is that chance of snow is low. The bad news, though, is temperatures are expected to be cold enough to freeze any hot drink before it hits their lips. It wouldn't be playoff football in Pittsburgh without temperatures that dip below the 10-degree mark.
By the time the game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST, temperatures are expected to be somewhere around 10 degrees, perhaps falling as low as five degrees above zero. With a little bit of wind, it could actually feel like the temperatures are below zero.
While the chance of precipitation is low, Pittsburgh will see its share of snow ahead of the game. Snow showers and frigid temperatures are expected all day Friday and a winter weather advisory is in effect.
Add it all up and you have the perfect weather for a January football game.
