Engagement, schmengagement!
It was Mommy Duty all the way for Sandra Bullock in NYC on Thursday -- the same day that her ex-husband Jesse James announced his engagement (his fourth!) to tattoo artist Kat von D. (She and James, 41, divorced in June after his numerous affairs were revealed; he stepped out with von D in August.)

In the Big Apple to shoot Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close with Tom Hanks, Bullock, 46, stepped out with her adopted son Louis, whose first birthday is this month.

Glammed up on the red carpet Sunday for the Golden Globes, Bullock admitted she was "having trouble" being away from her little guy for the first time. But coped with "modern technology," she said.
"You have Skype and iChat and things like that. Every five minutes my phone goes off with pictures, documentation."

She joked of Louis: "He's got the iPad and the iPhone and the computer with iChat."
