  • Why is Glee on after the Super Bowl? What head of programing came up with that idea?

  • the same guy who thought the black eyed peas would be a good halftime show

  • there"s the belt!

  • the same guy who thought the black eyed peas would be a good halftime show

My Humps is pretty good. And Furgulicious.

  • If the NFL was smart, it would immediately license an Aaron Rodgers style championship belt and sell it online.

  • The New York Post says The Chicago Code is the best new show of the season!

/doesn"t Rupert Murdoch own the Post?

  • The Black Eyed Peas set society back decades with that abortion of a performance. That was shit. Fuck Will.I.Am. and the rest of those tards.

  • Ten words or less, Coach Tomlin? Shit, I can do it in 1 word: TURNOVERS.

  • If the NFL was smart, it would immediately license an Aaron Rodgers style championship belt and sell it online.

Wouldnt be surprised if Vince is already trying to get him on Raw.

  • Half time show getting ripped up and down the web

Bring back Up with People rather than this auto tune tranny shrill bull shit

  • I had no idea Velveeta had so many uses!

  • It feels so good!!!!

  • Jesus fucking christ what an abomination of a sports day. PSU hoops, the Pens and the Steelers go fucking down, obviously with the last one stinging the most by far.

You can"t turn the ball over like that and expect to win. 21 of their 31 points off turnovers. Didn"t force any turnovers of our own.

On a more humerous note, my wife decided to make a boatload of $1/$2 prop bets for the game. After settling on her Top 20, she went 3-16-1.

  • Congrats to the Pack.

    Top Gear is on.

  • CHAMPS!!!

  • Fuck the Packers and Cortes.

  • Was it me or was that Fox broadcast very poor and somewhat dull? Between lack of replays and lack of updates about injuries, plus, it was hard to tell it was a 3pt game with 7 minutes left. Made it seem ho-hum.

I agree. Whoever approved this shit stain of an act should be fired

  • TBL was all for GB going for the TD on their last drive on 4th down. I wonder if that would have been his position if he had GB -4 or -5, lol

  • champs.

  • congrats Green Bay and thanks for the $. Does anyone else watch Shameless. Great show and Rossum gets naked

  • NFC North! NFC North! NFC North!

    /uh no
    //fuck my life

  • plus, it was hard to tell it was a 3pt game with 7 minutes left. Made it seem ho-hum.

    Blame Joe Buck for that.

His too cool for school act is so played out right now, it"s not even funny.

As far as Black Eyed Peas are concerned, I think the idea to bring in younger musical act was the correct decision. Just needed to not be the Black Eyed Peas. At the end of the day, those guys just don"t have a good voice, and it was badly exposed in a live setting. I hope the NFL continues using younger talent though. I"m sorry, but the likes of The Who or Billy Joel have no business playing in the superbowl. This isn"t the 70s.

Lost in all this ofcourse is the fact that Rodgers has yet to win a close game. This guy simply can"t get it done in a game decided by less than 3 points. :)

  • wow, massive quote fail. Sorry guys.

  • NFC North! NFC North! NFC North!

    /uh no
    //fuck my life

This is exactly how I feel

  • Few things more nauseating than watching ESPN Super Bowl post game with all the guys fawning over the winning teams players. SYou"ve made the journey, you"ve come so far Please shut up! It"s sad.

  • And now I have to wait 7 months for football. Fuck.

  • And now I have to wait 7 months for football. Fuck.

If we"re lucky. Could be 19 months. If that happens, I"m convinced domestic violence and the divorce rate will increase 150%.

  • 7 months? really?
    Feb: College hoops/NBA
    March: March Madness
April: Build-up to NFL draft, start of MLB, College football spring practice?
    May: Start of NBA playoffs
    June: NBA Finals, NBA draft
    July: go on vacation
August: Preseason NFL and college football

It"ll fly by, man. i can"t imagine there will be lockouts.*

    *optimistic

  • Bueller had GB -2.5. Would have been a dagger to lose on a last second TD.
plus, Lisk i think pointed out it may have made some sense to go for a TD.
they would have been pinned at the 5 yd line and still needed 70-75 yds to get in range for that crappy kicker.

also, remember, as a jets fan, i saw big ben take it all the way down the field (reg season) and just fail on 4th down at like the 9.

  • TBL: You forgot soccer. But seriously, the end of the Super Bowl is one of the worst moments of the year. There are tons of other great sports, but football.

They should act cool and pose as being non affected like cool commenters do.

  • Too bad there"s no Euro or World Cups this summer. Those two tournaments make the summer zip by just like that.

  • They should act cool and pose as being non affected like cool commenters do.

But they would need a cool/funny username like you.

  • Black Eye Peas is just the NFL"s attempt to ease their way back to the younger pop and rap acts after the snooze entertainment being provided most of the last decade after the Jackson/Timberlake fiasco. The league couldn"t start off with an act too provacative.

  • Once again, I"ll reiterate, having Tom Petty, The Who, Rolling Stone etc as half time act was poor choice on NFL"s part. And this is coming from someone who loves all genres of music and count 60s and 70s rock as my favorite music. But AARPfication of super bowl halftime show over the past decade was just awful.

  • It"ll fly by, man. i can"t imagine there will be lockouts.*

    *optimistic

I"m optimistic too, but I"m still expecting a delayed season at best.

  • I wasn"t watching halftime (cleaning up dinner mess that I left when the game started) but I could hear it and did not sound good.

I used to like Black Eyed Peas, but they"ve clearly jumped the shark.

  • being a hardcore soccer fan is going to relieve a lot of pain of losing NFL football. But you americans who"s sports life revolves around football, I don"t know how you guys will handle it.

  • Was it me or was that Fox broadcast very poor and somewhat dull?

    It was definitely you

  • Once again, I"ll reiterate, having Tom Petty, The Who, Rolling Stone etc as half time act was poor choice on NFL"s part.

Compared to tonight"s garbage? The best part was Slash. If you have 12 minutes to fill & you fill half of it w/ Slash & the artist formerly known as Usher, you suck

  • Compared to tonight"s garbage? The best part was Slash. If you have 12 minutes to fill & you fill half of it w/ Slash & the artist formerly known as Usher, you suck

Slash was indeed the best part. Look over my previous post. I said that Black Eyed Peas were a bad choice. They simply can"t carry a tune. As far as Usher is concerned. Something tells me you"re not his target demographic. The man has a great voice and is actually a pretty good stage performer. To each his own, but he certainly isn"t without talent.

There"s a very good reason why tv and ad execs fight tooth and nails to win the 18-49 demographic. NFL after the titty-gate just overreacted and started booking the AARP acts and forgot about the target demographic.

  • An article on yahoo says that slash was once axl roses guitarist. Interesting

I"m not his demo, but his song was lip synched (at least Cristina & BEP sang live), and the Spresentation & song was boring as hell

I"m in this demo, and the reason the old man rock acts are popular still is they can actually FILL those stadiums on a tour, and they have a tough time cutting their career to 12 minutes due to their playlist, let alone have two acts come in to fill half your time like tonight

my 19 y/o son & his 10 friends (guys & girls) watched it here & they thought tonight sucked also

  • give me tom petty anyday

So can Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Usher and on and on and on.

Once again, Black Eyed Peas were a terrible choice. They simply can not sing. Old and young can both agree to this point. But for the gods sake, no more The Who. I have most of their songs on my ipod. But superbowl just isn"t the venue for them. And it doesn"t make commercial sense.

  • But for the gods sake, no more The Who.

The Who, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney and so onas good as they are, they come from a bit too long ago to cater to everyone.

But what artists/bands can fit nearly everyone"s tastes? It sure as hell isn"t Black Eyed Peas nor is it anyone on the list mentioned above (Justin Bieber, Eminem, and so on). Is there ANYONE that could step up from between 1988-2006? Other than U2, I guess.

  • @Rollo: Pearl Jam? But I don"t think they"d do it.

  • Pearl Jam? But I don"t think they"d do it.

I don"t see them as being universally accepted, though. High quality yes, but that probably doesn"t fit the target for whoever makes these decisions.

I can say from the room I was in that a Black Eyed Peas performance did not go over well. It seems like the majority of people watching are over 21, so I can"t see how aiming young is the best idea.

I wouldn"t mind one year just having someone like Slipknot perform. That would create a lot of interesting responses from viewers.

  • How about Marilyn Manson and Trina. That would break teh interwebz. Major LOLz

  • In case you guys don"t know who trina is

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABZDZY5aCLY

Just imagining the look of horror on some Wisconsin grandma"s face as she is first introduced to Trina singing Sda baddest bitch is priceless.

  • I don"t see them as being universally accepted, though. High quality yes, but that probably doesn"t fit the target for whoever makes these decisions.

Okaybut then you go on to say SSlipknot? If you"re interested in oddities, why not just hire Gwar and be done with it?

  • But for the gods sake, no more The Who. I have most of their songs on my ipod. But superbowl just isn"t the venue for them. And it doesn"t make commercial sense.

It was no accident that they were chosen the year CBS had the Super Bowl.

    /CSI"d
    //synergy"d

Next year they"ll get a Train or a Sheryl Crow. Or somebody like that.

  • Fox really screwed up How do they not interrupt the half-time show to report that Driver & Woodson will not play in the 2d half? They hardly mentioned the effect it would have until 4 minutes in to the 3rd period. Really, the Super Bowl is a FB game, not something to watch until Glee comes on. Epic fail on Fox.

Only one I can think of is Green Day. Pearl Jam has a sizeable fan base but has been out of the mainstream for too long. The problem is not enough rock" bands from "88-"06 were built to play 100,000 seat stadiums.

It may or may not be worth noting, but 3 songs from Petty"s halftime set were from Full Moon Fever (released in "89).
