95-year-old Robert Sargent Shriver Jr., the former vice-presidential candidate and longtime Washington veteran who founded the Peace Corps, died today. Shriver's late wife was Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister to President John F. Kennedy. He is survived by his five children including Maria Shriver, until recently the first lady of California. [WP]
